Rights Livelihood Lecture

May 19, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Over the past six years, HOMEF and the University of Port Harcourt have hosted the highly seminal Right Livelihood Lecture in the Right Livelihood College Campus (RLC) at the University of Port Harcourt. The RLC currently has 9 campuses spread across the world with two in Africa – the University of Addis Ababa and the University of Port Harcourt.  Lectures are delivered by Right Livelihood laureates and bring forward actionable knowledge towards solving local and global challenges. This year’s lecture will be delivered by Rene Ngongo who received the Right Livelihood Award in 2009.

This year’s lecture is planned to be part of the activities marking the 40th Anniversary of the Right Livelihood Award (RLA). Past laureates who have spoken here include Vandana Shiva (RLA 1993), Jacqueline Moudeina (RLA 2011), Alyn Ware (RLA 2009), Ruth Manorama (RLA 2006) and Raul Montenegro (RLA 2004).
