Media Training and Lawyers’ Roundtable on the State of Biosafety in Nigeria

Media practitioners in Lagos, on the 26th of November 2019, will be looking critically at issues bordering on the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in Nigeria, on public awareness regarding the issue and on the role of the media in promoting factful and complete information to preserve our biodiversity and ensure that Nigerians make informed decisions with regard to food and agricultural biotechnology.
Following the media training, on 28th November 2019, HOMEF will hold a round table discussion with lawyers in Abuja which will focus on the legal issues around the use of GMOs in Nigeria, the National Biosafety Management Agency Act, and strategies to ensure proper regulations and promotion of biosafety in Nigeria.
