We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our team as a Finance Officer.
Position Summary:
The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the organization. This includes overseeing budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with internal and external financial regulations. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in financial management, particularly within the non-profit sector, and be able to work collaboratively with various teams to ensure effective financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal policies and donor requirements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Develop and monitor organizational budgets.
- Assist with financial audits and donor financial reporting.
- Ensure proper documentation of financial transactions and provide timely and accurate financial information.
- Support in the preparation of grant proposals and budget submissions.
- Maintain and update financial software and systems to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure adherence to local laws and regulations concerning tax, payroll, and financial reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional qualification will be a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, with at least 2 years in the non-profit sector.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, donor reporting requirements, and audit processes.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of local tax laws and accounting standards.
