Health of Mother Earth Foundation (HOMEF) in collaboration with Kebetcache Women Development and Research Center and Corporate Accountability and Public Participation Africa (CAPPA) is implementing a project aimed at strengthening climate change resilience through Agroecology research and advocacy. The collaborative is seeking proposals from qualified individuals or research team to lead a participatory action research on agroecology.
Scope of Work
The consultant/research team will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and refining (where necessary) the research questions
- Designing an inclusive and contextually appropriate research methodology
- Leading community mapping and stakeholder engagement
- Overseeing data collection, analysis, and participatory interpretation processes
- Ensuring ethical conduct throughout the research, including informed consent and equitable participation
- Translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations for policymakers and practitioners.
Key Requirements:
- Demonstrated expertise in the relevant field (agroecology, rural development, sociology, environmental science)
- Proven experience with participatory research methodologies
- Solid understanding of agroecological principles and practices
- Ability to analyze and synthesize complex, multi-stakeholder data.
- Cultural sensitivity and proven ability to foster trust and equitable participation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to decolonizing research and recognizing traditional/local knowledge as valid
Deliverables
- Final research methodology and workplan
- Community mapping report
- Interim and final research reports
- Policy brief summarizing key findings and recommendations
- A summary presentation for stakeholders and decision-makers.
